As well as distressing for all concerned, accidents cause great disruption to projects and can be expensive for contractors and employers alike. GENERAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT
In accordance with its duty under Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974, and in fulfilling its obligations to both employees and the public who may be affected by its activities, Morton Hale Developments Ltd has produced the following statement of policy in respect of Health, Safety and the Environment.
It is our aim to achieve a working environment which is free of work related accidents, ill-health and to minimise the environmental impact of our activities. In pursuit of this we will continuously look for improvement in all areas of the business. We expect all employees and sub contractors to proactively contribute to the achievement of high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
We undertake to discharge our responsibilities by;
1. Identifying hazards in the workplace, assessing the risks related to them and implementing appropriate preventative
and protective measures
2. Providing and maintaining safe work equipment
3. Establishing and enforcing safe methods of work
4. Complying with all relevant statutory provisions
5. Appointing personnel and contractors who have the skills, abilities and competence commensurate with their role
and level of responsibility
6. Ensuring that tasks given to employees are within their skills, knowledge and ability to perform
7. Ensuring that technical competence is maintained through the provision of refresher training as appropriate
8. Promoting awareness of health, safety and environmental good practice through the effective communications of relevant information
9. Furnishing sufficient funds needed to meet these objectives
